Setting up a retail business or just need an outside view on your existing operation....
I remember 3 years ago when I had the idea of setting up my dream
deli, I had a head full of vision but no idea where to start. Well coming up to my second anniversary I can definitely say
the mortal words.... “if I knew back then what I know now!”
I think I have learnt lesson 1712 out of an infinite number as you never stop learning, wouldn’t it have been great if there had been someone who could have sat down with me and given me the bigger picture, explained the ins and outs, the do’s and don’ts. There is plenty of advice out there but it doesn’t prepare you for the front line, the hidden costs that just keep cropping up and up, no one explained to me about employers NI, that could have saved me a couple of thousand (there’s one for free). Don’t get me wrong, given the time over I would do it again as I love my shop, my staff and my customers, but I might do a fair bit differently, which would mean more money in the bank today! So I’m offering a retail consultancy service, my rates are VERY reasonable as I’d love to do my bit to get more entrepreneurs off on the right foot and this country’s economy kick started again. I don’t have all the answers (as I say plenty of lessons still to learn) but I have a heck of a lot of them J A brief synopsis of my CV - I have seventeen years experience in the Audio Visual industry starting as a Junior Sales Rep and worked my way up to Sales Director of a multi million pound national company. Complied the responses and won many competitive tenders from £50,000 value to national purchasing agreements. Extensive HR, Health and Safety (secured CHAS accreditation), management, sales and marketing experience.( I had to multi task!) Plus I have this great Deli in Saltaire that I set up from scratch.
